Brandon Carr: 'I'm going to step up for Dallas Cowboys this year'

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr vows to prove his worth for the team next season.

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Brandon Carr has said that this season is going to be his breakout year in the team.

Carr has yet to really impress after signing his latest contract extension in 2012, with the player allowing the third-most catches in the league last season.

"I just feel like this year it's time for me to step it up bigger than I have in my six years in the NFL," Carr told reporters.

"I think our philosophy has changed. Just want to be a little bit more aggressive in the back end - kind of put some more weight on our shoulders. It's always good to be playing with your guys for a second year. You kind of know each other better and know the scheme."

The Cowboys may be counting on Carr come the start of the new season given that defensive talisman Sean Lee is likely to be missing through injury.
