Tony Romo participates in Dallas Cowboys practice

Romo practises on Thursday

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo practised for the first time in London on Thursday ahead of the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Romo had not taken part in any sessions since injuring his back in the week eight loss to the Washington Redskins and he was therefore a doubt to play against Jacksonville.

However, the Cowboys have remained optimistic all week that the veteran signal-caller would be able to play after he made the flight across to the UK.

"We'll see. I think we'll take it day by day, and see what happens when we move closer," Romo told reporters.

"It's improving each day, and I think if we did some things today that are positive, and if it keeps going in that direction, there's a good chance."

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones revealed to reporters that he believes that Romo will recover in time and play a key role in Sunday's game.
