Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray both created franchise records to help the Dallas Cowboys to a comfortable 27-10 half-time lead over the Washington Redskins at FedEx Field this evening.
The Cowboys opened the scoring on their first possession of the match as Dan Bailey made a 36-yard field goal following a drive that lasted almost five minutes.
Washington hit back in style, however, with Robert Griffin III throwing a short pass to DeSean Jackson, who raced into the endzone untouched for a 69-yard score.
Dallas were soon in front once again, though, and it was another fine solo effort that saw them regain the advantage as Bryant shook off a couple of tackles on his way in for a 65-yard touchdown.
Bryant then got his 16th touchdown of the season to set a new franchise record, combining with Tony Romo again for a 23-yard score to extend his side's lead to 10 points.
The Cowboys continued their dominance on offence in the second quarter, with Bailey adding a 32-yard field goal before Murray ran in for a nine-yard touchdown to make it five scores from five possessions for his side.
Murray also passed Emmitt Smith's record for the most rushing yards in a single season for Dallas during the first half, creating another slice of history as the Cowboys marched on.
The Redskins did manage to reduce the deficit to 17 before the break as Kai Forbath kicked a 25-yard field goal, but the Cowboys still went into half time with a commanding lead.
Dallas would earn a first-round bye in the playoffs if they win today and the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals both lose.
