Cleveland Browns to prioritise Joe Haden contract

Tying Joe Haden down to a new contract remains the Cleveland Browns' top priority despite their front office alterations, it is claimed.

The Cleveland Browns are to make the renewal of Joe Haden's contract their number one priority heading into the NFL off-season.

The franchise made key changes to their front office yesterday, but on the field they maintain that re-signing Pro Bowl cornerback Haden is their most important next move.

The 24-year-old is about to enter the final year of his rookie contract, which will pay him $6.7m (£4m) over the next 12 months.

NFL Network reporter Albert Breer said via his Twitter account: "Per source, the Browns have been negotiating a long-term deal with star CB Joe Haden, and the team was in touch with his people yesterday."

Haden made 53 total tackles last season, with four interceptions to his name.
