Browns place Gipson on IR

The Cleveland Browns have announced that they have placed defensive back Tashaun Gipson on season-ending injured reserve.

The 24-year-old sustained a knee problem during his side's win over the Atlanta Falcons, and has missed their last three games.

Mike Pettine's men were hopeful that Gipson could return before the end of the season, but they have decided against it in order to ensure that he is healthy going into the off-season programme.

Gipson has recorded 52 tackles, one forced fumble and six interceptions for the Browns this season.
