Report: Roman Harper signs with Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have signed free agent defensive back Roman Harper, according to a report.

Harper was released by the New Orleans Saints last month due to his high salary cap number for the 2014 season after eight years at the club.

The 31-year-old has penned a two-year deal worth $4.5m (£2.7m) with the Panthers, according to ESPN.

Harper recorded 39 tackles and one interception in the 2013 season.
