Bill Polian: 'Dave Gettleman will not panic'

Bill Polian feels that Carolina Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman will not panic during the NFL Draft despite key off-season departures at the club.

Former Indianapolis Colts general manager Bill Polian believes that Carolina Panthers GM Dave Gettleman will not be swayed by key off-season departures in the Draft.

The Panthers lost wide receivers Steve Smith, Brandon LaFell and Ted Ginn in free agency, leaving their wideout corps depleted for the 2014 season.

Polian told ESPN: "He will not panic. He will not be swayed by outside noise. He will not be bothered with anything that is written or said about any prospective player.

"He's going to make the judgment that he's going to make based on his experience, based on his evaluation and based on the input he gets from evaluators he trusts on the staff."

Polian and Gettleman worked together as part of the backroom staff of the Buffalo Bills 20 years ago.
