Buffalo Bills quarterback Kyle Orton confirms that he has retired from the NFL after 11 seasons in the league for five different clubs.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Kyle Orton has announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.

The 32-year-old revealed that he was considering quitting the game last season after leaving the Dallas Cowboys, but joined the Bills and managed to earn the starting job with the club.

Orton guided Doug Marrone's men to a 9-7 record, including a final-day win over the New England Patriots to secure the club's first-ever victory at Gillette Stadium.

"I just have been going at it for 10 years and it's just a family decision and I've decided to get home and be a dad and call it a day," Orton said in a statement.

Orton threw for 18,037 yards and 101 touchdowns to 69 interceptions in his NFL career.
