Jairus Byrd aggrieved by Buffalo Bills contract

Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd admits that he doesn't know what more he could have done to have secured a long-term deal during his four years at the club.

Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd is still aggrieved by the club's decision not to hand him a long-term deal in the off-season.

Byrd signed his franchise tag, which will keep him at Buffalo for one more season after holding out for the majority of the team's training camp this summer.

"Do I want to prove to them anything?" Byrd told the Buffalo News.

"I guess in four years if I didn't, I don't know what I can do, you know what I'm saying? Their mindset is what it is.

"I just have to go out there and focus on football and just help this team in any way possible."

Buffalo open their regular season against the New England Patriots on September 8.
