Defensive end Chris Canty signs new contract with Baltimore Ravens

Canty agrees new Ravens deal

Veteran defensive end Chris Canty has signed a one-year contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens.

The 32-year-old was released by the Ravens three weeks ago, and was linked with a move to both the New York Jets and the Seattle Seahawks.

However, he has put pen to paper on a new deal, which will see him earn around £1.7m.

Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome told reporters: "We talked weeks ago about the possibility of Chris coming back, and we are happy he is."

Canty played 360 snaps in 11 games last season.
