Report: Dimitroff future remains in balance

Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff's future at the club remains in the balance, according to a report.

The 48-year-old joined the Falcons in 2008 and transformed the fortunes of the franchise along with head coach Mike Smith as the club were able to reach the NFC championship game in the 2012 season.

However, failures in back-to-back seasons cost Smith his job and Falcons owner Arthur Blank, who is leading the search for Smith's successor, is ready to leave the fate of Dimitroff in the hands of his new coach, reports NFL Network.

Dimitroff has won the NFL Executive of the Year award twice in his tenure with the Falcons.
