Ted Ginn Jr released by Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals confirm that they have released wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr after just one season at the club to free up space on their salary cap for 2015.

Ted Ginn Jr has been released by the Arizona Cardinals after just one season at the club.

The 29-year-old signed a three-year deal with Bruce Arians's side last year worth $9.75m (£6.3m), but the wide receiver struggled to produce in the Cardinals' offense as he fell down the depth chart towards the end of the campaign.

As a result, the club have taken the decision to cut Ginn from the roster to save them up to $2.5m (£1.6m) on the salary cap for the 2015 season.

Ginn recorded 14 receptions for 190 yards but failed to score a touchdown in the 2014 campaign.
