Christmas is now just a few days away - and to emphasise the point, our trusty mole is now wearing his Santa hat. Look at him up there, so full of festive cheer! One can only imagine what kind of mischief he'll be getting up to at New Year's.
This is the beginning of a very busy festive fortnight here on SM, with four weeks' worth of fixtures coming up in the space of two. It's business as usual for us throughout, with full coverage of every fixture on Boxing Day and New Year's Day, including live commentaries of all the key games.
In the last update of this blog I promised we were working hard on our new 'Stat Centre' service, and much like a persistent postman, I always deliver. We launched the new section earlier this week and you can find it here. For every league we cover, you can access a variety of different tables and stats that hopefully will provide a much richer insight into how every team is performing across different metrics. As always, get in touch with any suggestions of other information you'd like to see us add in.
Next up on the development slate is a long-awaited project for us: an overhaul of our team homepages. The current design is a remnant from when we launched the site and we're well aware that the pages are not anywhere near as useful as they could be. Our strategy in redesigning them is to incorporate the fresh, clean design elements we've been rolling out across the site of late, as well as making the most of the vast mines of relevant editorial we have to hand (so things like appropriate information from the stats centre, club-specific fixtures, squad profiles and so on). We're aware that the first port of call for many readers is to visit the homepage for their favourite team so we want to ensure that each one is as informative as it can be.
