Venus Williams breezes past Aleksandra Krunic

Venus Williams beats Aleksandra Krunic 6-3 6-2 to move into the fourth round at Wimbledon, where she may meet sister Serena.

Venus Williams has thumped Aleksandra Krunic in straight sets at Wimbledon as a last-16 clash with sister Serena looms at SW19.

The American beat her Serbian counterpart 6-3 6-2 in just 73 minutes to potentially book a date with her sibling.

She will face the 20-time Grand Slam champion in the fourth round if the world number one beats Great Britain's Heather Watson.

Nothing could separate the pair for the first seven games as both players held their respective service games, but Williams broke in the eighth to move 5-3 ahead and it was enough of a cushion to secure the first set.

Two more breaks of serve in the first and third games of the second set helped Williams - whose last title at All England came in 2008 - to a commanding 4-0 lead.

Krunic reduced the arrears to 4-1, but it only served to delay the inevitable as Williams won her serve to progress.
