Roberto Bautista Agut fights back to stun Benoit Paire

Roberto Bautista Agut overturns a two-set deficit to see off Benoit Paire to reach the Wimbledon third round.

Roberto Bautista Agut has reached the Wimbledon third round after a thrilling victory over Benoit Paire.

The 20th seed appeared to be on his way out after dropping the first two sets before he stormed back to progress by a 2-6 4-6 6-3 6-3 6-3 scoreline.

In 2014, Bautista Agut reached the third round at SW19, but he struggled to handle an impressive start from Paire, who had blasted past Mikhail Youzhny in his opening match.

The Frenchman struck twice to ease to the first set, and although Bautista Agut improved during the second, he couldn't prevent Paire converting the sole break point of the set.

The third proved to be a different story, though, as Bautista Agut dominated the Paire second serve to earn the break of serve required to extend the match.

In the fourth, the Spaniard was able to seal three more breaks as Paire's level of performance dropped, but the Frenchman would create openings in the decider as he looked to avoid a complete turnaround.

However, Bautista Agut saved four break-point chances before taking one of his own to book his spot in round three.
