Edmund claims Challenger title in Rome

Kyle Edmund has won his second Challenger title of 2016 with a straight-sets win over Filip Krajinovic in the final in Rome.

The British number three claimed victory in Dallas at the start of February and he followed that achievement with a comfortable victory over world number 114 Krajinovic.

The opening set was decided by a tie-break but after Edmund had taken it in emphatic fashion, he raced through the second to register a 7-6 6-0 victory.

The 21-year-old will move to number 82 when the world rankings are updated on Monday and he could be closely followed in the standings by British compatriot Dan Evans.

The Birmingham-based hitter won the Taipei Challenger last Sunday and he has taken that form into the second-tier event in Busan this week, with Konstantin Kravchuk standing in his way in the final.
