Freddie Burns kicks Leicester Tigers past Gloucester

Freddie Burns kicks all the points for Leicester Tigers as they edge to an 18-15 win over Gloucester Rugby in the Aviva Premiership.

Freddie Burns kicked all of Leicester Tigers' points as they secured a narrow 18-15 win over his former club, Gloucester Rugby, in the Aviva Premiership this evening.

The visitors also had to rely on their fly-half for points as James Hook made three penalties before the break, matching Burns to keep the sides level at half time.

Leicester continued to put Gloucester under pressure at the back early in the second half, forcing two more penalties within 10 minutes of the restart.

Hook was able to keep the visitors in the game, but Charlie Sharples was sent to the sin bin for an obstruction with just over 10 minutes to play, leaving his teammates a man short and letting Burns put the Tigers in front for good.

The result leaves Leicester fourth in the table, while Gloucester stay ninth.
