England centre Henry Slade out of Six Nations with broken leg

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter confirms that England centre Henry Slade will miss next year's Six Nations after breaking his leg at the weekend.

England centre Henry Slade has been ruled out of next year's Six Nations after breaking his leg while playing for Exeter Chiefs.

The 22-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday's 41-27 Aviva Premiership victory over Wasps.

He underwent surgery on Sunday and Exeter are yet to set a date for his return.

"We are certainly not pencilling in any date for Henry's return because we know it is long-term," Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter told the club website.

"We will start talking about a return date in eight to 10 weeks' time when we know a bit more - it will take a bit of time though and a lengthy rehab process."

Baxter also confirmed that flanker Dave Ewers will not feature again before the New Year because of knee ligament trouble.
