Coach Tony Smith rues Warrington Wolves frustration in Wigan Warriors defeat

Warrington Wolves head coach Tony Smith believes frustration got the better of his players in the 28-0 defeat to Wigan Warriors.

Warrington Wolves head coach Tony Smith believes frustration got the better of his players as they were beaten 28-0 at home by Wigan Warriors.

The Wolves were on the wrong end of some crucial 50-50 calls but fell away in the second half, allowing Wigan to secure a comfortable win.

"It was a tough day. That second half was tough to watch for all of us Wolves," Smith told reporters.

"We needed to get some points on the board when we had field position in the first half.

"Once we didn't score those points I thought real frustration crept in - that's when you start making mistakes and it all falls apart."

Sitting sixth place in the top tier of the Super 8s, Warrington's top-four hopes look all but over as they trail St Helens by eight points.
