Catalans Dragons survive Hull FC comeback

Catalans Dragons hold on to claim a 20-16 win over Hull FC in the Super League.

Catalans Dragons have survived a second-half comeback from Hull FC to claim a 20-16 win in the Super League this evening.

The French side had the majority of the possession inside the opening 20 minutes, resulting in Morgan Escare and Michael Oldfield finding the try line.

Gareth Ellis got the visitors back into contention just before half time, but a late effort from Benjamin Garcia kept Catalan ahead at the break.

It looked like the Dragons would continue to pull away when Daryl Millard added to the score just seven minutes into the second half.

However, two tries in three minutes from Kirk Yeaman and Jamie Shaul cut the hosts' lead to just four points with over 15 minutes still to play.

Hull continued to push for a match-winning try in the closing stages of the meeting, but were unable to find the line again before time expired.
