Rangel thanked for donations

Swansea City defender Angel Rangel has received praise and gratitude after donating food to the homeless in the Welsh city.

The 30-year-old asked his followers on Twitter where he could give away a bag of unwanted sandwiches that he and his wife were given from a shop.

A nun from a homeless shelter on The Strand in Swansea, which is run by Missionaries of Charity, told the South Wales Evening Post: "He brought five or six sandwiches.

"People bring often bring an amount of things. He said could we take them. We would like to thank him for his donation. We thank everyone who brings something."

The Spaniard has been living in the Welsh city since 2007.
