Sky Sports wins NFL 'Sunday Night Football' rights

Sky Sports has announced that a deal has been struck to broadcast the NFL's 'Sunday Night Football' for the next two years.

The network will now show 100 live NFL matches a season, including the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, every playoff fixture, and at least five games a week across the regular season.

Sky will also broadcast 'Monday Night Football' coverage, as well as pre-season action between New Orleans Saints and the Houston Texans on August 30.

Sky Sports strategy director Jonathan Licht said: "We're excited to add Sunday Night Football to our extensive NFL coverage this season. Viewers can now enjoy over 100 games a season on Sky Sports, which added to our digital and on demand offering, makes it our most comprehensive line-up of NFL ever. NFL fans in the UK and Ireland are going to be in for a fantastic season."

Sky's coverage will get underway on September 10 when New England Patriots take on Pittsburgh Steelers.
