British Swimming chief executive David Sparkes has hit out at Olympic diver Tom Daley for agreeing to front new diving reality show Splash!.
The five-part series, which kicked off on Saturday, was poorly received by viewers and Sparkes believes that Daley's ambitions to work in television could hamper his diving career.
"He should look at the example of skaters Torvill and Dean who waited until the end of their competitive careers before doing such programmes," the Daily Mail quotes Sparkes as saying. "I'm concerned Tom is putting the cart before the horse and I've expressed those concerns to his agent."
Daley clinched a bronze medal at the London Olympic Games last summer.
