Australian golfer Robert Allenby has reportedly been arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing outside a casino in Illinois.
Rock Island police confirmed that the 45-year-old was taken into custody in the early hours of Saturday morning, and spent less than an hour at the station after paying $150 of a $1,500 (£1,162) bond.
"Robert Allenby was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal trespass from Jumer's casino on August 13 at about 2.29am," The Guardian quotes the police spokesperson as saying. "He was transported to Rock Island county jail and we do believe he has bonded out."
Allenby has a different story, though, claiming that he was not arrested, despite the local sheriffs releasing his mugshot.
The golfer told USA Today that he was staying at the casino, and after missing the cut at the John Deere Classic, had dinner and played blackjack with fellow players and caddies.
"I don't know anything that's going on, so you can say whatever you want," Allenby told the newspaper. "There's nothing to be said or done. Nothing happened."
When asked about the charges, Allenby said: "I have no idea, mate. No idea."
Last year, Allenby caused controversy when he claimed that he was beaten, kidnapped and robbed following a night out in Hawaii.
