Lorenzo Insigne 'robbed at gunpoint'

Napoli striker Lorenzo Insigne was reportedly robbed at gunpoint while with his wife and two friends in Naples on Saturday evening.

The group were approached by a masked gunman on the back of a motorbike while they were at traffic lights.

Insigne's agent Antonio Ottaiano has claimed that the robber forced them to hand over their valuables, including a Rolex watch, jewellery and €800 (£626).

Before leaving the scene, the gunman asked Insigne to dedicate a goal to him during Monday's Serie A match against Fiorentina.

"Lorenzo suffered a terrible experience and told me that it was a really bad moment," BBC Sport quotes Ottaiano as saying.

The forward, who has scored 12 goals this season, is expected to play in this evening's match.
