Gerrard auctions off boots for refugees

Steven Gerrard has handed over a pair of limited edition Liverpool boots to auction off to help raise funds for refugees.

The 35-year-old midfielder was given the boots by Adidas to commemorate his 17 years at Liverpool before he left for MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy in the summer.

The boots have YNWA 'You'll Never Walk Alone' on the heel, as well as the number eight to signify Gerrard's shirt, and the names of his daughters Lilly-Ella, Lexie and Lourdes.

According to the Liverpool Echo, only 17 of the boots were made and one pair will be auctioned off on eBay as part of the With Love from Liverpool pro-refugee cause.

The proceeds from the auction, which went live on Thursday, will be donated to the British Red Cross Europe Refugee Appeal.
