Hollywood actor Tom Hanks 'bet £100 on Leicester City to win Premier League'

Hollywood actor Tom Hanks has claimed that he placed a £100 bet on Leicester City to win the Premier League title.

The 59-year-old American, who is an Aston Villa fan, made the revelation at the London premiere of his new film A Hologram for the King on Monday.

Leicester have a seven-point lead at the top of the table and can secure the title if they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford this Sunday.

While on the red carpet, Hanks told a reporter that his potential winnings will soften the blow of Villa getting relegated to the Championship.
