Five men in court for Paris Metro racism row

Five men are appearing in court today facing football banning orders following an alleged racism incident that occurred on a Paris Metro involving Chelsea supporters.

Prior to Chelsea's 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last month, a group of fans prevented a black man from boarding a train in France.

The supporters were filmed chanting, "we're racist, we're racist and that's the way we like it," in earshot of the man, who was later identified as Souleymane S.

Today, five men believed to be involved in the incident will attend Waltham Forest Magistrates' Court in North-East London.

Proceedings are due to get underway at 2pm.
