Christian Benteke mistakenly claims on Twitter that he has joined Burnley

Christian Benteke claims on Twitter that he has joined Burnley from Liverpool, despite signing for Crystal Palace today.

Christian Benteke made a blunder on Twitter by claiming that he has joined Burnley, despite signing for Crystal Palace this morning.

The Belgium international completed a switch to Palace from Liverpool in a deal thought to be worth an initial £27m rising to £32m.

Once the transfer was announced, the 25-year-old updated his Twitter account listing Burnley as his new club, but he swiftly spotted his mistake.

Benteke tweeted: "Oops my bad lol Yes I signed for cpfc and not burnley. Sorry for the little mistake the person that manages my Twitter got a little confused."

The striker scored 10 goals in 42 games for Liverpool, who signed him last year for £32.5m from Aston Villa.
