Jordan Spieth has admitted that winning the Ryder Cup is one of his major targets this year.

The world number one is due to defend his Masters and US Open titles over the next 12 months, as well as challenge for a gold medal at the Rio Olympics.

However, having seen the American team lose six of the last seven encounters against their European counterparts, Spieth conceded that victory at Hazeltine in September is high on his priority list.

"It's a huge goal this year for me and possibly at the very top of the list to try and get that win as a team," the 22-year-old told reporters.

"We are tired of hearing about changes that need to be made. We are tired of hearing about the past. We're ready to believe in kind of a younger, more hungry team going forward."

Spieth was America's second-highest points scorer at the 2014 Ryder Cup in Scotland.
