Lee Westwood maintains lead after Malaysian Open second round

Westwood maintains Malaysia lead

Defending champion Lee Westwood sits at the top of the leaderboard at the halfway stage of the Malaysian Open.

The Englishman suffered just one bogey in a five-under 67 round and shares the clubhouse lead with Alejandro Canizares, who is 11-under for the tournament.

Graeme McDowell shared the lead with Westwood yesterday, but has dropped six shots off the pace following a frustrating second round, which included three bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th hole.

Bernd Wiesberger is three shots off the pace after carding a second-round 66 with seven birdies and a bogey, which was the only blemish on his day.

Last year's Europe Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley had a poor round as he hit four bogeys and a double bogey to leave himself tied-53rd in the field.
