Xander Schauffele wins Greenbrier Classic

Xander Schauffele claims his first PGA Tour title with a one-shot victory at the Greenbrier Classic.

Xander Schauffele has won the Greenbrier Classic by one shot to claim his first victory on the PGA Tour.

Last month, the American impressed at the US Open where he secured a top-five finish, but a final-round 67 ensured that he emerged victorious on Sunday evening.

The win sees Schauffele move into the world's top 100 for the first time, with the 23-year-old moving from 159th to 82nd in the World Golf Rankings.

Robert Streb finished one shot adrift of the winner, while Jamie Lovemark and Sebastian Munoz claimed a share of third place a further one shot back.

Germany's Alex Cejka registered a top-10 finish after shooting a score of 64 on Sunday, but Phil Mickelson and Patrick Reed ended the tournament tied for 20th spot.

Ireland's Seamus Power finished down the field in 50th position after a closing-round 72.
