Daniel Ricciardo wins Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo wins the Azerbaijan Grand Prix ahead of Valtteri Bottas, while Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton finish fourth and fifth respectively.

Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo has won the 2017 Azerbaijan Grand Prix ahead of Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas.

Ricciardo started the race from 10th and slipped down the field early on, but the 27-year-old turned things around to sensationally triumph with a +3.904 lead from second-placed Bottas, who just pipped teenager Lance Stroll on the line.

Sebastian Vettel deliberately rammed into title rival Lewis Hamilton during the race in Baku, which led to the Ferrari driver receiving a 10-second stop-go penalty, although the German has actually extended his championship advantage to 14 points after finishing one spot ahead of Hamilton.

The race was stopped for 30 minutes after 23 laps, which had seen cars collide throughout the field, and neither Sergio Perez, who crashed with Force India teammate Esteban Ocon, nor Felipe Massa could finish what will be remembered as one of the more dramatic races in recent memory.
