Daniel Ricciardo: 'New Renault engine made no improvement'

Daniel Ricciardo says that Red Bull's new Renault engine did not deliver the extra power the team had hoped for during the first two practice sessions at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo has said that Red Bull's new Renault engine has not made a difference after the first two practice sessions at the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Speculation continues that Red Bull will dispense with the services of Renault after a disappointing 2015 season.

"At the moment we did not find too much," Ricciardo told reporters. "Daniil [Kvyat] had the old one and I had the new one. It does not look like much, so we will see.

"It is just the first day of running it on the track, so I am sure that the guys will look tonight and see if there are things we can tune, and for sure try get some more power out of it.

"The positive was that it ran all day, so we got good laps and information. But the power difference for now is not so much."

Ricciardo finished 0.2s ahead of Kvyat in the second practice session.
