Lewis Hamilton lauds Mercedes team ethic

Lewis Hamilton claims that Mercedes is the best team he has ever worked with.

World champion Lewis Hamilton has paid tribute to Mercedes, claiming that the German constructor is the best he has worked for.

The Briton joined the Silver Arrows in 2013 before beating teammate Nico Rosberg to this year's drivers' title.

Hamilton has admitted that some people were critical of his decision to join Mercedes, but revealed that speaking to former team principal Ross Brawn helped in making his mind up.

He told Sky Sports News: "People were so negative about the choice. It's almost like everyone felt, in their experience, they knew everything that was right but I had all the information.

"I knew what Mercedes was planning on doing. Ross [Brawn] sat down with me, explained it to me several times and I was like 'Mercedes Benz do not know how to lose as a company'. So that's a good place to go.

"I think this is probably the closest I have been with my group and I think, just being a little bit older, this is the best I've ever worked with a team. Us guys, we work so closely together."

Hamilton spent six seasons with McLaren prior to his move to Mercedes.
