Lewis Hamilton has promised that he "won't do anything silly" at this weekend's Italian Grand Prix.
Tensions have been mounting in the Mercedes camp following a collision with teammate Nico Rosberg at last weekend's Belgian Grand Prix which forced Hamilton to retire.
Rosberg went on to finish second in Spa and is currently 29 points ahead of Hamilton at the top of the drivers' standings.
However, speaking to BBC Sport after securing pole at Monza, Hamilton said that his only focus is on winning the race.
He said: "Racing is what I do best. I always want to keep my car intact and I want to be up ahead, so I won't be doing anything silly.
"It [the collision] might be in his mind, who knows? But for me I'm going to be doing the same thing as always.
"Nothing changes for me. I've been racing for many years and I've not collided with too many people, so I'll just continue to race the way I do. I just want to win the right way and I'll try to do it that way."
Rosberg will start from second on the grid.
