Sebastian Vettel not blaming Fernando Alonso for delay to Ferrari

Sebastian Vettel insists that he does not blame Fernando Alonso for the delay to his impending move to Ferrari.

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is refusing to place blame on Fernando Alonso for the delay of his impending move to Ferrari.

While it has not been officially confirmed, Vettel is expected to drive for the Italian manufacturers next season after spending five successful years with Red Bull.

Current Ferrari driver Alonso is yet to resolve his future, but numerous reports have claimed that the 33-year-old is on the verge of joining McLaren.

"I don't think the fault lies with one person, so I don't think you can talk about blame," Vettel told Germany's Auto Motor und Sport. "It's just a situation that is not yet entirely clear, which is the way it is in Formula 1 sometimes.

"It is of course silly if you can't answer the questions that are being asked of you, so I do hope there will be clarity soon."

Alonso has spent four years with Ferrari.
