Branislav Ivanovic lands in Russia ahead of Zenit St Petersburg move

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic lands in Russia ahead of his proposed deadline-day move to Zenit St Petersburg.

Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has landed in Russia ahead of his move to Zenit St Petersburg.

The 32-year-old has not made a Premier League start for the Blues since September, falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge since Antonio Conte switched to a 3-4-3 formation.

Ivanovic still has six months remaining on his contract with Chelsea, but the club are willing to let the long-serving Serbian leave on a free transfer before tonight's 11pm deadline.

Official confirmation of the deal is expected in the coming hours after Ivanovic landed in St Petersburg to undergo a medical and thrash out the final details of his move.

Ivanovic has made 375 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 33 goals and helping the club to every major trophy along the way, including two Premier League titles and the 2012 Champions League.
