Wolfsburg hosted Fortuna Dusseldorf with both sides separated by just two points in the Bundesliga.

Wolfsburg dominated first-half possession, but it was Dusseldorf who went ahead with Mathis Bolly turning in Robbie Kruse's left-wing cross.

The hosts levelled early in the second half with a neat move; Ivica Olic latching on to Yohandry Orozco's pass to sweep home.

However, there was to be no winner as both sides settled for a point.

Hello everyone and welcome to our live text commentary of tonight's Bundesliga action. It's Wolfsburg vs. Dusseldorf and it kicks off at 7.30pm

I have the Wolfsburg team news to bring you, and will get the Dusseldorf news across as soon as I can.

WOLFSBURG XI: Benaglio; Fagner, Madlung, Kjaer, Rodriguez; Polak, Trasch; Vieirinha, Kahlenberg, Orozco; Olic

It's three changes for the hosts. Alexander Madlung comes into the middle of defence, with both Diego and Ivan Perisic replaced in the starting XI by Thomas Kahlenberg and Yohandry Orozco respectively.

That follows their 5-2 mauling of Freiburg at the weekend. I wonder what changes would have been made had they won! Ivica Olic and Vieirinha both scored wonderful goals in that game, so my expectations are high. Vieirinha's in particular was a sensational volley.

Here is the Vieirinha goal, for those interested:

As promised, here is the Dusseldorf lineup...

DUSSELDORF XI: Giefer; Balogun, Malezas, Van den Bergh, Tesche; Bodzek, Kruse, Ilso, Bellinghausen; Bolly

I'm just figuring out who's missing from the list I've got, I'm aware there are only 10 on that one! Once I have it I'll let you know.

First, a look at the odds. Wolfsburg are quite strong favourites; you can't only back them at slight odds-on. 19/20 is the best current price. Dusseldorf are around 3/1, while a draw is 5/2.

My prediction? It has to be Wolfsburg. I'm going for 2-0; I think they'll just have too much in attack. Their league position really deceives the talent they have and they should take this one fairly comfortably.

We're just about five minutes away from kickoff. I think we should see goals tonight. After all, there were 12 combined in both these sides' games last weekend. Which bodes well for the neutral, but perhaps not the coaches!

The players are just about ready to come out of the tunnel. We're close to kickoff.

We're off; Wolfsburg kick off.

Positive start from the men in green. They're passing it around well and Ivica Olic is just pipped to the ball from Orozco's cross and he cannot get a shot away.

Axel Bellinghausen brings down the dangerous Vieirinha about 25 yards out. No booking, but a very dangerous free kick chance for Wolfsburg.

Rodriguez lines it up but wellies it miles over the bar. He kind of went for power and accuracy at the same time but got it all wrong.

Dusseldorf are still trying to get into the game. Wolfsburg are pressing off the ball and being patient on it. They've started exactly as they'd have hoped and look comfortable.

They've looked dangerous on the left side so far, the hosts. This time they try to use the right flank but Madlung's pass to Fagner is way overhit.

Dusseldorf now more solid at the back and are just starting to play themselves into this one. However they've not ventured near the Wolfsburg box in the opening 10 minutes.

It was Martin Latka who was missing from the list earlier, by the way. Bolly breaks forward and shoots from just outside the box, but he must have suffered a nosebleed and drags his shot wide.

CHANCE! Wow! That had goal written all over it! Vieirinha cut the ball across from the byline to Olic, but Latka was there under the bar to clear! Great defending.

WOLFSBURG SUB: Early change for the hosts. Jan Polak was hobbling early on and he's had to be replaced by Josue.

BOOKING: Josue brings down Van den Bergh with a terrible late lunge and gets booked for his troubles. Nothing wrong with that decision.

Latka gives the ball away straight to Orozco, but his touch lets him down as he races towards goal which allows Balogun to get in and win the ball. He should have been away then the Venezuelan.

OFF THE POST! Rodriguez strikes it on the left from about 35 yards. It's low and hard and comes back off the post! He deserved better there from a fantastic strike.

Free kick just outside the box on the right hand side here for the hosts as Malezas brings down Kahlenberg.

Rodriguez shoots again but he goes for placement and directs it straight down the throat of Giefer in the Dusseldorf goal.

It's still constant pressure from the hosts. They aren't peppering the goal with shots, but you sense something will give soon for the visitors. A real lack of a cutting edge in the first quarter of this match.

Vieirinha twists and turns on the edge of the box and shoots low with his left foot, but drags his shot wide.

Latka makes his presence known by bringing down Olic midway in the Dusseldorf half. Dusseldorf try to launch a rare attack through Bellinghausen and Bolly, but they end up going back to the defence before losing the ball again. Very poor so far from the visitors.

The ball is in the net! However, there was a clear foul by Madlung on Giefer from a corner and the whistle went before the ball was tucked in.

CHANCE! Fagner is found in acres down the right flank, but his drilled cross is just about cleared before Josue's shot is blocked. There wasn't enough of an effort to meet that fizzed in cross.

Wolfsburg are still about as dominant as is possible without creating much. If I was a betting man, I'd put money on Dusseldorf opening the scoring with their first chance...

Really, really awful free kick from Dusseldorf allows Wolfsburg to break. However, the hosts' attack breaks down too and eventually the visitors have a throw. Odd decision to play the free kick short instead of putting a cross in from Bellinghausen.

Orozco has faded after starting very brightly, as Bellinghausen gives Vieirinha a nudge, sending him flying over the advertising boards. Wolfsburg win the free kick but it goes straight to Giefer.

GOAL! Wolfsburg 0-1 Dusseldorf (Bolly)

I certainly wish I was a betting man! Just as I said, Dusseldorf take the lead. Bellinghausen finds Kruse down the left with a lovely flick and Bolly gets ahead of Kjaer to guide into the net from close range! Wolfsburg only have themselves to blame for that.

After the goal, the match has settled into the same pattern as before. Wolfsburg passing comfortably in the midfield but lack a cutting edge. They've not tested Giefer at all.

There's still a surprising lack of urgency from Wolfsburg. Vieirinha is still looking lively, but he's had so little support from Olic up front and the rest of the midfield. Fagner has played well down the right, but there's not been enough.

HALF-TIME: Wolfsburg 0-1 Dusseldorf

So the referee ends the half without any stoppage time. It's Dusseldorf who lead Dieter Hecking's side and really this one should be 0-0. No side deserves to be leading, but the visitors converted the best chance of the game, so they can't really do much more than that.

It's difficult to see what Hecking can do to get his side back in this. They've dominated possession for the most part, but aside from a strike from range from Rodriguez have barely threatened Giefer in the Dusseldorf goal. They seem disjointed without Diego to link the midfield and attack.

Dusseldorf, even though they're winning, can't be too happy with how little of the ball they have seen. They have set up to counter, yes, but haven't done that a lot at all. It was a really good goal on the break, but they'll want to create a few more if they are to win this.

Hecking has already been forced into a change, so I doubt he'll go back to his bench just yet. Just about all Josue has done is get booked since he's been on the pitch. Olic up front alone has worked hard, but has been starved of service.

DUSSELDORF SUB: Reisinger has come on at half time to replace Ilso.

WOLFSBURG SUB: Attacking change for Wolfsburg, with Fagner making way for Bas Dost.

The second half is underway. How will that change effect Wolfsburg's fortunes? Hecking has seen the need for a better link to the strikers, and Dost is now up there with Olic.

First chance of the half should have fallen to Dusseldorf, but Kruse loses the ball when well placed on the left side of the home penalty box.

SAVE! Vieirinha plays a one-two with a flick from Kahlenberg. The Portuguese drives low and Giefer gets it away before it's headed behind for a corner. Much better from Wolfsburg. The game is more open in this half already.

GOAL! Wolfsburg 1-1 Dusseldorf (Olic)

Super goal there for Wolfsburg. There's good passing in midfield and Orozco threads through for Olic, who puts it through Giefer's legs and into the net. Straight from kickoff Dost almost gets on the end of a cross for 2-1, but it's saved. Lively now, this one.

It's really finely poised now. Dusseldorf, funnily enough, have played better in this half, yet they've conceded. It was a good attacking move from Hecking to bring on Dost for Fagner and they too are playing much better.

CHANCE! Rodriguez swings in a free kick and Kjaer rises highest in the box, but can only direct his header over the bar. He probably should have at least hit the target.

CHANCE! Straight at the other end, Bolly works space in the box. He goes for goal from an angle and it's not too far wide of Benaglio's left-hand post. Good play from the striker.

Wolfsburg are now firmly in control of the possession and are running Dusseldorf left to right with their passing. The visitors keep giving it straight back, but look to break through Kruse. to no avail, however.

Bellinghausen latches on to a poor pass but then his ball to Kruse is awful in turn. If he'd got that right Kruse would have been through on goal.

Still patient probing from Wolfsburg here. Dusseldorf are getting numbers behind the ball, however, and it's still a struggle for the hosts to break through. Olic finds space in the channel for a cross, but it's headed clear by Malezas.

Not much more to report on the last few minutes. Bellinghausen is getting increasingly frustrated with his performance, as it's summed up by missing the chance to break with a heavy touch. The Wolfsburg fans are starting to show their discontent.

OFF THE BAR! Dusseldorf so close to being ahead! Tesche cuts on to his right foot from just outside the area and curls one towards the top corner, but sees his effort beat Benaglio but come crashing back off the bar. What an effort that was, so unlucky!

Orozco gives the ball away after some good passing from Wolfsburg, which sums up his night really. They come again but Latka clears this time. They're running out of time and really are fortunate to be level after that strike off the bar a couple of minutes ago.

WOLFSBURG SUB: Kahlenberg makes way for Schafer. Pretty much like-for-like that will be for them.

DUSSELDORF SUB: Schahin comes on for Bolly. That's a shame for the visitors as he had looked very lively.

The subs have just disrupted the flow slightly. However, it's still Wolfsburg doing all the passing without causing much damage. Schafer has taken up a position on the left, with Orozco moving into the middle.

Dusseldorf look to break but it again comes to nothing. Malezas is heading away everything at the back for them too.

CHANCE! Good opening there for the visitors. The ball is cut back to Kruse on the edge of the box, but his shot has no power whatsoever and bobbles to Benaglio. He certainly should have done better but he was being pushed for time by Wolfsburg.

CHANCE! Good opening there for the visitors. The ball is cut back to Kruse on the edge of the box, but his shot has no power whatsoever and bobbles to Benaglio. He certainly should have done better but he was being pushed for time by Wolfsburg.

BOOKING: Malezas is booked for bringing down Orozco. The cross comes in from Rodriguez and Schafer backheaders towards goal but it goes just over. Not as far away as Giefer thought.

BOOKING: Orozco now gets carded for swinging out an arm at Bodzek. Dusseldorf somewhat hanging on now, can Wolfsburg turn their dominance into a winner?

Kruse tries to pick out Reisinger, but his cross is poor. Wolfsburg bring the ball away and Vieirinha finds Rodriguez, who's not afraid to shoot, but his effort is straight at Giefer from 30 yards.

BOOKING: Kruse skins Madlung but as has been the case this half cannot do anything with the ball. Dost tracks all the way back to tackle Balogun, and Tesche goes into the book for handball. Chance gone.

DUSSELDORF SUB: Kruse makes way and Omae is on for him.

There surely won't be another goal here. Wolfsburg seem to have run out of ideas and Dusseldorf are seeing a bit more of the ball now. It's all in their half, however. It just needs one chance.

There will be two minutes added on.

CHANCE! That should be the winner! Benaglio saves low down from a flicked effort from Schafer as he met a cross from the right. What a chance to win this at the death!

FULL-TIME: Wolfsburg 1-1 Dusseldorf

Well, in a game that had a clear lack of chances, the points are shared. It has to go down as a fair result really, because despite Wolfsburg seeing much more of the ball arguably the best chances went to their visitors.

Thanks for joining me for this one. That's all I've got time for, but be sure to check the site for reaction to all of tonight's football. Goodbye.
