West Ham 'agree deal in principle' for Bayer Leverkusen's Javier Hernandez

West Ham United reportedly 'agree a deal in principle' to sign forward Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen.

West Ham United have reportedly moved to the brink of completing the signing of Bayer Leverkusen forward Javier Hernandez.

It has been well documented that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has been keen on bringing in a new striker since the end of last season, but he has missed out on deals for the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Olivier Giroud.

However, it appears that progress has been made with Hernandez and according to Sky Sports News, a deal has been agreed in principle for the Mexican to return to the Premier League.

It has previously been claimed that negotiations needed to be held over the former Manchester United player's wage demands, but the 29-year-old has seemingly signalled that he is happy with the terms on offer to him.

Since signing for Leverkusen two years ago, Hernandez has netted 39 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions and despite his form, the German outfit were unable to prevent him from speaking with West Ham after they met his £13m release clause.
