West Ham United will reportedly consider offering David Moyes the role of interim manager if the club decides to part company with Manuel Pellegrini.

David Moyes is reportedly a contender to replace Manuel Pellegrini as West Ham United manager should the club decide to sack the Chilean in the coming weeks.

Under Pellegrini West Ham have embarked on a poor run of form this season, losing four of their last six Premier League matches.

According to The Independent, Moyes is now in line to replace the former Villarreal, Real Madrid and Manchester City manager on a short-term contract until the end of the season.

The report adds that the Hammers hierarchy were ready to sack Pellegrini if his side lost to Southampton last weekend and have been readying a list of alternatives.

The 56-year-old Moyes had a spell at the East London outfit during the 2017-18 Premier League campaign, replacing the sacked Slaven Bilic in November 2017 with the club in the relegation zone.

The former Everton and Manchester United coach subsequently led West Ham to safety, but was replaced by Pellegrini in the summer of 2018.
