Sullivan "delighted" by Ayew arrival

West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has said that he is "delighted" to have broken the club's record transfer fee to bring in Andre Ayew.

The 26-year-old penned a £20.5m, three-year deal with the Hammers yesterday, having impressed with 12 goals in his debut season with Swansea City last term.

"Andre is a great player. He was Swansea's leading goalscorer last season," Sullivan told West Ham's website.

"He can play all four positions across the frontline and last season when he played as a striker he scored six goals in eight games.

"We have been negotiating with Swansea for over three weeks and are delighted to have secured his signature."

As well as in the Premier League, Slaven Bilic's side will also be competing in the Europa League this season.
