Slaven Bilic expects "emotional" atmosphere in final game at Boleyn Ground

Bilic expects "emotional" stadium send-off

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has claimed that there will be an "emotional" atmosphere when his team play their final game at the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday night.

The East London outfit will take on Manchester United in their penultimate game of the season before they move to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford.

The match has extra importance as the Hammers are four points adrift of United, who occupy the Europa League spot.

It is also a must-win game for Louis van Gaal and his team as they need to gain maximum points from their final two matches in order to qualify for next season's Champions League.

"It is impossible to divorce the emotion from the game but it would be a big game anyway even if it was the last game at Upton Park," Bilic told reporters this morning.

"It means a lot to them and to us. It's big and can't be bigger as it's the last game and we both need to win it. It's massive. The players would be emotional even if just one of those things was happening, but with all of them they will be extra emotional."

Meanwhile, the club have announced that all 50,000 season tickets for the 2016-17 season at the Olympic Stadium have sold out.
