Hal Robson-Kanu declares himself fit for Euro 2016

Robson-Kanu: 'I will be fit for Euros'

Wales striker Hal Robson-Kanu has insisted that he will be fit in time for Euro 2016 despite concerns over an ankle injury.

The 27-year-old has been ruled out of Sunday's friendly against Sweden due to the problem, but was included in Chris Coleman's 23-man squad for this summer's tournament.

It was feared that the injury could be serious enough to prevent Robson-Kanu from playing any part in France, but the player himself has given assurances over his fitness.

"I'm fit and well. It's a bit of a knock, but that's standard in competition sport," he told reporters.

"I'm feeling good and I'll be 100% come the first game. I was on the grass today and I'll be training again tomorrow building up to the first game."

Coleman, who has until June 9 to make changes to his squad on medical grounds, will take Bristol City youngster Wes Burns to France as cover for Robson-Kanu.
