Sam Allardyce confirms Eboue offer

Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce has revealed that his club have offered a contract to Ivorian defender Emmanuel Eboue.

The 32-year-old, who left Galatasaray at the end of last season, has spent the last three weeks on trial at Sunderland.

Talk of the former Arsenal right-back being offered a deal at the Stadium of Light has grown in recent weeks and Allardyce, at his pre-match press conference on Thursday, confirmed that an offer has been made.

The Sunderland boss, according to Sky Sports News, also added that he expects the move to be announced before Saturday's trip to Southampton in the league.

Eboue, who is an Ivory Coast international of 79 caps, made over 130 Premier League appearances for Arsenal between 2005 and 2011.
