Tottenham Hotspur eye swoops for Christian Benteke, James McCarthy?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering moves for Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke and Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy.

The North London outfit are said to be keen on improving their attacking threat and have been linked with Benteke, who netted 19 goals last season, for some time.

It is believed that Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is monitoring both Benteke and recently-relegated Latics star McCarthy, according to the Daily Star.

The 22-year-old is believed to deemed worthy of a £10m price tag by Wigan.
