Tottenham Hotspur players reportedly believe that Mauricio Pochettino is destined to be sacked by the club over the next few weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur players reportedly believe that Mauricio Pochettino will be sacked by the club in the coming weeks following a difficult start to the 2019-20 campaign.

The North London club came under enormous scrutiny following their defeat on penalties to Colchester United in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Such a defeat added to the notion that Pochettino struggles in cup competitions, while their league form has also dipped, with Spurs dropping points to Manchester City, Newcastle United, Arsenal and Leicester City so far this term.

According to The Sun, Spurs players believe that Pochettino's days are numbered and were reportedly left fuming by the manager claiming that some squad members had "different agendas" after the defeat at Colchester.

The Argentine's preferred next destination is said to be Manchester United, who looked closely at appointing him last season.

It has been reported that United would have to shell out £32m to Spurs as compensation for snatching their head coach, although the Red Devils are likely to avoid paying such a sum and instead be patient with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's project at the Theatre of Dreams.
