Mauricio Pochettino hails Tottenham Hotspur win over "great" Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino hails his side's "great, great" 2-0 win over a "great" Manchester City team at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised his side's 2-0 win over a "great" Manchester City team at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

The hosts took the lead nine minutes in through Aleksandar Kolarov's own goal before doubling their advantage thanks to Dele Alli's low finish late on in the first half.

Spurs were able to see the game out and edge to within one point and one place behind table-topping City.

Pochettino told BBC Sport after the game: "It was a great, great victory for us against this opposition.

"I am very happy. Sometimes when you have a plan, it is good, sometimes less so, but Manchester City are a great team. It is difficult to play against them.

"We need to follow this after the international match and we have more tough games after the international break."

After the international break, Tottenham face West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday, October 15.
