Tottenham Hotspur have continued their preparations for the new Premier League campaign with a excellent 6-1 victory over Celtic.

Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado netted twice in the first 13 minutes to give Spurs the advantage, before Jamie Lindsay halved the deficit with a header just before the break.

However, Lewis Holtby quickly restored his team's two-goal lead in added-on time before Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen and Emmanuel Adebayor all got on the score sheet in the second half.

Read below to see how the action unfolded in Helsinki.

Hello, and welcome to Sports Mole's live coverage of the friendly match between Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic.

Well this isn't a bad little game for a Saturday afternoon, is it? Well, despite the fact that the match is taking place in Helsinki and Celtic are resting many first-teamers, but we'll ignore that, shall we?

Without further ado, I will bring you the full starting lineups and substitutes for both sides. As I've already mentioned, Celtic are fielding a few of their reserve crop but Spurs are fielding a strong team.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR XI: Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Kaboul, Davies, Mason, Capoue, Holtby, Kane, Townsend, Soldado

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR SUBSTITUTES: McGee, Fredericks, Fryers, Rose, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon, Sandro, Adebayor

CELTIC XI: Gordon; Herron, O'Connell, Ambrose, Twardzik; Lindsay, Irvine, Henderson; McGeouch, Pukki, McMullan

CELTIC SUBSTITUTES: Fasan, Waters, McManus, McIlduff, Tierney, Balde, Fridjonsson

This was the scene in Helsinki a few hours ago. As you would expect at this stage of the year, the pitch looks immaculate.

I'm sure that Tottenham supporters will be delighted to see the presence of Emmanuel Adebayor on the substitutes' bench. The striker has been suffering with malaria during the past few weeks, but the Togo player is fit and raring to gain some valuable minutes ahead of the start of the Premier League campaign.

There appears to be a fair few Spurs fans who have made the trip to Finland. For a pre-season friendly, that's a decent effort!

The two teams have made their way out onto the pitch in Helsinki. We will be getting underway shortly!

It's Celtic who kick off at the start of this first half.

The Scottish Premiership champions are quick out of the blocks and they soon win a corner thanks to some good work from Liam Henderson. However, the resulting set piece comes to nothing and Spurs regain possession.

We are only in the early stages, but both teams look very sharp. In Celtic's case, there may be a determination within their team to force themselves into contention against Legia Warsaw next week.

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Celtic (Kane)

What was I saying? Spurs take the lead in Helsinki thanks to a fine finish from Harry Kane. Andros Townsend jinked past a couple of Celtic players before pulling the ball from the byline for Harry Kane, who took his time before firing the ball into the top corner from 14 yards.

That strike seems to have had a detrimental effect on Celtic. They are struggling to maintain possession of the ball, but some of that is due to the pressure being applied by Spurs.

A through ball almost finds Roberto Soldado, but the Spaniard has never been blessed with pace and that enabled the Celtic defence to mop up the danger.

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Celtic (Soldado)

He doesn't have a whole lot of pace, but he sure knows how to finish inside the penalty area. Lewis Holtby burst into the penalty area before flicking the ball inside to the awaiting striker. His first effort was superbly blocked by Craig Gordon but he retained his composure to fire the ball into the top corner from eight yards.

This could soon turn into a long afternoon for Celtic. They've offered nothing since that initial burst inside the opening 60 seconds and Spurs appear to have a team of players who are aware that they are fighting for a place in Mauricio Pochettino's starting lineup for the first Premier League fixture.

SUBSTITUTION! Spurs are being forced into an early substitution. Michael Dawson has picked up a knock after a rare burst forward, with Zeki Fryers coming on in his place.

Many will think that it's a foregone conclusion that Harry Kane will begin the season behind Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor in the pecking order, but the young Englishman is showing this afternoon that he is ready for the fight. He played a neat one-two before collecting the ball on the edge of the area, with his shot from 20 yards just dipping over the crossbar.

Another fine move from Spurs sees a right-wing cross just fail to find Roberto Soldado, who was advancing into the six-yard box.

That's better from Celtic, who finally show a bit more ambition to get forward. However, despite a decent corner from the right-hand side, Zeki Fryers easily heads away.

It looks like the players are going to have a short drinks break. I thought that we were in Helsinki, not Brazil...

We are back underway but there's not a whole lot happening. It has looked more like a training exercise than an actual match during the past few minutes.

I don't know if that was just a poor delivery from Liam Henderson or one of the most audacious efforts that you will ever see. Whichever it was, the ball went miles wide from a free kick on the left flank.

Spurs are lightning sharp on the break. Celtic are having the better of possession at the moment, but there seems to be a fear of being outdone on the counter-attack.

Harry Kane is back in the thick of the action around the penalty area but his lofted attempt drops invitingly into the hands of Craig Gordon.

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 Celtic (Lindsay)

All of a sudden, we have a game on our hands. After Dylan McGeouch had seen a shot saved by Brad Friedel, he retrieved the ball before crossing for Jamie Lindsay, who directed his header past the American stopper from eight yards.

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Celtic (Holtby)

Maybe we don't have a game after all. Spurs regain their two-goal advantage thanks to Lewis Holtby, who latched on to a through ball from Etienne Capoue before finishing coolly past Craig Gordon from 10 yards.

HALF TIME: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Celtic

The referee blows the half-time whistle in Helsinki and Spurs hold a deserved 3-1 advantage over Celtic. The Scottish Premiership champions' second string have been no match for a Spurs side who look like scoring with every venture forward. Harry Kane and Andros Townsend have been particularly impressive for the North London outfit.

Given the strength of the Spurs bench, I would imagine that it's Mauricio Pochettino's intention to give some of his star players plenty of minutes in the second half, but the Argentine chief's thinking might be altered after such a promising performance before half time. As for Celtic, Ronny Deila is likely to withdraw the players that will be a part of the squad for their crucial Champions League qualifier in a few days' time.

We are back underway for the second half.

As expected, Spurs have made numerous substitutions at half time, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen two players who have been introduced to the action.

It's been a quiet start to the second half. Celtic appear to have been told to concentrate on retaining possession during the opening exchanges to ensure that they don't fall 4-1 behind. It's only a friendly, but it wouldn't do the club's confidence any good if they take another hammering today.

It's Tottenham's turn to keep hold of the ball for a prolonged period as their new introductions look to get up to speed with the match. Emmanuel Adebayor had a glimmer of an opening in the penalty area but his header was tame and straight at Craig Gordon.

Both teams are really taking it easy at the start of this second half. It's a strange one because with so many substitutions, the conditions can't be too much of a factor.

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 Celtic (Lamela)

Spurs effectively wrap up the match with a fourth goal thanks to Erik Lamela. The former Roma man cut in from the right before finding the back of the net from 20 yards. It looks as though his shot took a deflection though, and that ultimately deceived Craig Gordon.

Spurs have started to up the tempo since that goal. They are having plenty of joy down either flank, with Danny Rose and Erik Lamela having the beating of their marker. Another chance fell the way of Emmanuel Adebayor, but his curling effort from just inside the area drifted past the far post.

SUBSTITUTIONS! Sandro and Ryan Federicks come on for Etienne Capoue and Kyle Naughton for the final 20 minutes, but before the game gets back underway, we are going to have another drinks break

There's a rather youthful look to Celtic's lineup now and that has seen them become increasingly under the cosh. There looks a couple more goals in this game for Spurs.

I'm sure that the Celtic players in question won't agree, but Emmanuel Adebayor has just jumped for a high ball under pressure from two Celtic players and they have come off the worst in rather comical fashion. That's some effort from Adebayor.

We are into the final 10 minutes in Helsinki. It's become scrappier since my last update, but Celtic are offering nothing in the Spurs half. It's simply a case of trying to avoid conceding a fifth goal.

YELLOW CARD! Efe Ambrose goes into the book after a late challenge on Emmanuel Adebayor that prevented him on running through on goal. Is this the chance that Spurs needed to get their fifth...

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 Celtic (Eriksen)

Yes, I was blatantly trying to hint that Spurs had scored. Christen Eriksen is the man who got it, curling the ball into the top corner from 25 yards. It's a cracking strike.

WOODWORK! It could have quickly got worse for Celtic, but they somehow manage to avoid conceding a sixth. The ball arrived at the feet of Emmanuel Adebayor in the penalty area, but after creating space for himself, he struck the post from 10 yards.

PENALTY TO SPURS!

GOAL! Tottenham Hotspur 6-1 Celtic (Adebayor)

After Efe Ambrose had brought down Danny Rose in the penalty area, Emmanuel Adebayor stepped up to confidently strike the ball in off the right post.

There will be four minutes of added-on time.

FULL TIME: Tottenham Hotspur 6-1 Celtic

The full-time whistle goes in Helsinki and Spurs have eased to a comfortable 6-1 win over a weakened Celtic side. The lack of stars on show for Celtic shouldn't take anything away from the Premier League side's performance though - they were exceptional.

It's still early days for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino, but they look like they are going to have a spring in their step by the time the Premier League starts in a couple of weeks time. They can take so many positives from today's match.

That will be all from Sports Mole's coverage of this match. Thank you for joining us and we hope that you stick around for the friendlies that are currently taking place between Arsenal and Benfica, and Schalke 04 and West Ham United. Goodbye for now.
