Sheffield Wednesday sign Angolan striker Lucas Joao from Nacional

Sheffield Wednesday have signed striker Lucas Joao from Portuguese Primeira Liga side Nacional, subject to international clearance.

The 21-year-old, who has made three appearances for Portugal Under-21s, has signed a four-year contract at Hillsborough.

Joao scored six goals and made seven assists in 30 league games for Nacional last season.

The Angolan-born player moves to the Owls for an undisclosed fee, and joins former Nacional teammate Marco Matias at the club.

Joao could make his Wednesday debut in a pre-season friendly against St Mirren on Saturday.
